WATCH Outtakes Of SNL’s Kate McKinnon As Justin Bieber For Calvin Klein

One of Saturday Night Live’s best sketches of the past season was the spoof of Justin Bieber’s Calvin Klein Ads with Kate McKinnon as The Biebs. SNL knows this was pure gold, so they just released the outtakes (above)… and they’re just as funny and ridiculous as the original sketch (below).

This Is The One Minions Product Tie-In The World Absolutely Doesn’t Want Or Need

MinionsTampons

Maybe you’ve seen the Minions on your Amazon boxes, or Minions Marshmallow Peeps (amazing!), but Minions TAMPONS, really?!?!? Thankfully, the tampons aren’t a REAL Minions product-tie in, but the above image was tweeted out by Kotex Puerto Rico to show their excitement for the movie. I’m guessing the Kotex customer base wasn’t as excited at the prospect of having eyes down there as Kotex deleted the pic (but it lives on… thx, internet!).

Kmart “ship my pants trousers” commercial gets the Charles Dickens treatment

Back in April Kmart made a LOT of noise with their hilarious “ship my pants” commercial, so they’ve made a sequel where the characters from Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” talk about shipping their trousers.  Bonus points to Kmart for using all of the same actors as the original commercial.

Will Ferrell / Ron Burgundy did 70 (yes, SEVENTY) commercials for Dodge Durango

This is brilliance in marketing where everybody wins:  Dodge wants to hire a big movie star to do their ad campaign, but they don’t have the budget of Ford or Chevy.  Paramount Pictures wants to promote the hell out of Anchorman 2, but doesn’t wanna take the gamble on spending the money for a huge ad campaign because comedy sequels don’t often do as well at the box office as action sequels.  The solution: Will Ferrell (as Ron Burgundy) did 70 commercials for the Dodge Durango.  Dodge pays for the production of the commercials and buys the advertising time, and Paramount gets 70 different commercials to showcase why people thought Ron Burgundy was so funny in the first place.

Above is one of the 70 commercials, there are more here (and if you find others, please feel free to shoot me a message through Facebook or Twitter).

Your good cry of the day

We all need a good cry from time to time, and sometimes it takes the power of manipulative advertising to do the trick.  This comes courtesy of a communications company in Thailand, and it’s all about the power of giving.  You’ll see the ending coming from a mile away, but you’ll still cry, because it’s just that manipulative.  BTW, I’m totally OK with being manipulated as long as I’ve been warned first.  You’ve been warned.
